Thailand is the Asian place of longing for the Swiss. Because the country has everything we lack in abundance. A high sense of aesthetics, lactose-free food, freely accessible beaches, wild elephants, silk that flatters delicate bodies, a progressive approach to gender roles and a lax approach to helmet requirements.

So it's no surprise that we love traveling to Thailand. But in order to satisfy the wanderlust between long-distance trips in a CO2-neutral way, we looked for ways to set our minds on the legendary Siam even without an intercontinental flight. We browsed through bustling Thai markets, sang carefree through the night and looked for the larger-than-life footsteps of King Bhumibol. The result is a colorful booklet that sometimes squeaks like happy children and entices you to travel around Switzerland with a backpack and flip flops.
